Commonpoint Queens is seeking a part-time Porter for the Older Adult Center in Bayside, NY 11360. The role involves room set-ups, cleaning, lunch service support, and stocking supplies as needed. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and help maintain cleanliness in assigned spaces.

Applicants should be able to stand, walk, lift, and handle heavy materials, speak English fluently, and work mornings to early afternoons on weekdays. This is an entry-level, part-time position.

Responsibilities

• Function as a part-time Porter assigned to the Older Adult Center.

• Other tasks as assigned.

• Routine cleaning including sweeping, mopping, collecting garbage, and cleaning of all rooms utilized by the Older Adult Center for programming as well as staff offices.
• Assist with daily lunch service including, but not limited to washing/sanitizing of utensils and wares, cleaning warmer, refrigerator, freezer and steam table as needed.
• Receiving, unpacking and stocking supplies as needed.
• Functions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of other spaces within the Bay Terrace Center as requested.
• Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• High School graduate or equivalency required
• Must speak, read and write English fluently
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and interact with older adults in a mature, caring manner
• Ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations
• Ability to work independently on tasks and be responsive to supervision

JOB DETAILS

• Work Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday; must be available mornings and early afternoons
• Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour
