Job summary

Atria Senior Living, Inc. is hiring a Porter in Stamford, CT. You will provide cleaning and basic maintenance across community spaces, maintain grounds, and support safety practices.

The role requires completing training programs and working varied shifts. Expect to operate standard tools and follow safety instructions, supporting residents and staff. The position offers on-site work with a wage range of $16.94–$20.33 per hour, commensurate with experience, and benefits including health coverage

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
• Able to add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10s and 100s using US units.
• Able to work with standard situations with limited variables.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Able to use basic maintenance/landscape hand and power tools safely.
• Read and follow safety instructions for caustic materials and equipment in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning services for the community's offices, interiors, public areas, and amenities in a safe, neat, and attractive condition.
• Provide floor care for carpet, tile, and wood floors; may include vacuuming, extracting, buffing, sealing, stripping.
• Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
• Maintain grounds including sidewalks and exteriors in neat condition.
• Perform basic maintenance requests as needed.
• Mow lawns, trim shrubbery, and cultivate flowers (varies by community).
• Notify management about repairs and potential safety issues.
• Report unsafe conditions promptly to Supervisor.
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; may perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Able to perform these operations using units of United States’ currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Able to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape related hand tools and light power tools, such as shovels, rakes, blowers, mowers, drills, saws, sanders, buffers, vacuuming, extractors, etc.
• Porters will be required to work with caustic materials and cleaning equipment in order to fulfill their job responsibilities. They must be able to understand English well enough to read and comply with safety instructions for proper use of such materials and machinery to protect themselves and others (employees, residents and guests) from injury.

• Provide floor care services for carpet, tile, and wood floors and may include vacuuming, extracting, buffing, sealing, stripping, etc.
• Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
• Maintain all grounds; including sidewalks, public walkways and stairways, building exteriors, garden areas in a neat, clean and attractive condition.
• Performs basic maintenance related work requests.
• Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers (varies by community).
• Notifies management concerning need for repairs.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions promptly to Supervisor.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work performed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

The wage range for this position is $16.94/hr - $20.33/hr, dependent on prior work history and experience
