Job summary

Major Food Group is seeking a part-time Porter to join our team at Parm Battery Park City in New York. You will maintain cleanliness in Back of House and Front of House areas, handle dishwashing, mopping, and trash disposal.

The role requires 0–1 years experience in a porter or similar role, a high school diploma preferred, dependability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. We offer progressive PTO, tuition reimbursement, and other benefits.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of porter, dishwasher, janitor, or similar experience.
• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Dependable, hard-working and punctual.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of Back of House and Front of House areas.
• Clean and sort all dishes and flatware.
• Mop and take out trash as necessary.
• Wash and disinfect appliances, display case, work surfaces, floors, walls.
• Replenish cleaning materials, soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Since the original location of Parm opened in New York City’s Little Italy in 2011, the restaurant’s takes on Italian-American soul food have reached iconic status. From the prized Chicken Parm to the homemade meatballs to the Rigatoni Carbone, the menu is inspired by the cooking Michelin-Starred chefs Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi ate growing up.
