Job summary

Brookfield Properties is seeking building cleaning workers to maintain the cleanliness of commercial and multi-unit residential spaces at Beacon Hill. Roles include porters, janitors, maids, housekeeping cleaners, window washers and rug shampooers.

Responsibilities include cleaning offices, restrooms, lobbies and common areas; mopping, shampooing, dusting, and minor repairs; setting up event spaces and handling light maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
• Less than 1 year of prior experience at commercial or multi-unit residential property.
• Must communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing; multilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, bathrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
• Wet- or dry-mop floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, removing rubbish, pressure washing, gum and graffiti removal.
• Make minor repairs, paint, carpentry, replenish bathroom supplies, landscaping and snow removal.
• Sweep, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium, meeting rooms or hall
• This position requires a High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent work experience
• <1 year of required prior experience in working on a commercial or multi-unit residential property
• Required skills for the position include: dependability - follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions, teamwork - contributes to building a positive team spirit, ethics - treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values, organizational support - follows policies and procedures, safety and security - observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
• Computer and smart phone literacy required. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, for all work-related responsibilities. Multilingual skills are a plus.
