Job summary

Infosys Financial Services unit is hiring an Engineering Consultant 2 to help drive digital transformation for financial institutions. You will elicit requirements, design concepts, and support prototypes across banking, wealth management, and insurance sectors with opportunities in Richardson/Plano, TX, Hartford, CT, Raleigh, NC, or Tempe, AZ.

Expect to work on scalable, secure software using Java, RESTful services, React/Angular, and AWS.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining Backstage-based portals.
• Strong experience building enterprise apps, REST APIs, and microservices in Java.
• Proficiency with React and Angular for modern web UIs.
• Experience with AWS cloud services for cloud-native apps.
• End-to-end involvement from requirements through production support.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

In the assigned Job Role of Engineering Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Elicit and document business and technical requirements, translating them into actionable specifications for the team
• Participate in design meetings, create initial design concepts, and support the development of design sketches and models using established engineering tools and techniques
• Participate in iterative engineering design cycles, refine prototypes, and coordinate with teams to implement feedback effectively
• Develop and refine solution specifications and perform validation activities, including simulations, to ensure that engineering solutions meet design specifications and criteria
• Build and refine prototypes, incorporating testing results and feedback received from cross-functional team, to enhance functionality
• Undertake technical integration efforts, ensure system functionality, identify and resolve interoperability issues
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and assist in organizing knowledge-sharing sessions among team members

Required Skills :

• Backstage Developer Portal: Experience designing, customizing, and maintaining Backstage-based developer portals, including plugin development, software catalog management, and developer experience enhancements.
• Strong experience building enterprise applications, REST APIs, and microservices using Java and related frameworks.
• React & Angular: Expertise in developing modern, responsive web applications and user interfaces.
• AWS Cloud Services: Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS.
• End-to-end involvement in requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack application design, development, and maintenance.
• Ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure software solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Experience working with enterprise application servers and relational/non-relational database platforms.
• Proficiency in software engineering best practices, design patterns, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Experience implementing automated testing, defect resolution, and quality engineering practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong platform engineering and developer portal experience.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and solution design.
• Professional Certifications (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, TOGAF).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
