Position Summary

The Portables Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of trucks to service portable restrooms and transport waste to designated disposal sites. The Portables driver will also deliver and pick up portable restrooms, holding tanks, and other sanitation equipment. This role requires adherence to all safety protocols and regulations, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, relevant experience, and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate portables trucks to transport waste to designated disposal sites.
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with all OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and company expectations for the fleet.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and requirements.
  • Clean and sanitize portable restrooms and equipment according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle at all times.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle to ensure proper working condition and utilize the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) in accordance to company policy; note all safety issues on DVIR for review or repair.
  • Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
  • Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
  • Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Secure loads to prevent spillage or accidents during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with Route Manager, Dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, services, and any incidents.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Role Expectations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, pulling, pushing and securing heavy loads.
  • Ability to repeatedly enter/exit high set truck and consistently walk to and from portable restrooms and equipment throughout the route.
  • Work independently, earn a reputation as a trusted team member who will always do the right thing, and communicate proactively.
  • Be a brand ambassador for Greenmark, driving a culture of excellence and true partnership with team members and external stakeholders.
Education and Experience
  • Education: None required.
  • 2+ years of experience operating roll‑off trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record is required.
  • Successfully complete pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
  • Ability to work with electronic devices (i.e., tablets and computers) to perform daily assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience identifying and addressing customer needs.
  • Good understanding of the portable restroom, commercial waste and recycling industry.
  • A passion for sustainability and environmental responsibility is a plus.
