Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Portable Equipment (PEMS) Technician for Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

This full-time role ensures availability, maintenance, and safe operation of portable medical devices across hospital settings, collaborating with clinical staff to meet equipment needs. Responsibilities include establishing par levels with nursing, inspecting devices per IFUs, keeping logs, and ensuring PMD compliance using Sodexo's CMMS system.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital inpatient areas, cleaning and transporting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean devices per manufacturer guidelines (IFUs and manuals).
• Execute daily rounds to monitor equipment needs and maintain logs.
• Manage inventory activities and PMD compliance using CMMS.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time and perform other duties as required.

Workdays/shifts: ANY SHIFT (OPENAVAILABILITY). More details will be provided during the interview process.

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $17.00 - $17.00

What You’ll Do:

As a Portable Equipment (PEMS) Technician at Sodexo, you will ensure the availability, maintenance, and compliance of specialized medical devices. You will play a key role in supporting patient care across healthcare facilities by working closely with clinical staff to meet equipment needs efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities include:

• Partner with nursing teams to establish par levels and meet requirements for portable medical devices, such as beds, infusion pumps, pillow speakers, and wound vacuum-assisted closure devices (wound vacs).
• Inspect and clean all devices in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, utilizing Instructions for Use (IFUs) and operator manuals to ensure safety and compliance.
• Execute daily rounds to monitor and meet the specialized equipment needs of patients. Maintaining equipment logs as required.
• Manage specialized inventory activities, such as portable medical device (PMD) compliance, using Sodexo’s proprietary computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software.
• Prepare documentation on transported equipment, inventory updates (e.g. location, cleaned), conducted operator performance checks, or validated service vendor PMD compliance.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
