Job summary

Curtin Maritime is seeking a Port Engineer for a shoreside role based in Long Beach, CA. This position demands a high level of accountability and ownership, with a background in tugboat engineering and hands-on mechanical skills.

You will support vessel engineers, manage policy implementation, and coordinate procurement and Helm Connect tasks. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in engineering roles, strong computer and administrative abilities, and a TWIC card.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience in an engineering role on tugboats.
• Strong computer and administrative skills required.
• TWIC Card is required.
• Based in Long Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Manager with Vessel Engineers & Engineering Support Staff.
• Support implementation of Engineering policies and procedures.
• Purchasing related to normal vessel operations and review requisitions.
• Enforce Helm Connect tasks and ensure proper input of planned work.
• Assist in management of Vessel Engineers and coordinate tasks.
• Attend vessel drydock periods and report progress and budgets.
• Support development and training of Engineering policies and procedures.
