Job summary

Jjwws in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Pool Operator to service and maintain pools and spa facilities, ensuring clean, safe water and reliable operation. You will diagnose, repair and maintain filtration and purification equipment, maintain chemical balance, and keep records of daily activities.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to read and write English, and a Maryland pool certification or completion of the Maryland State Accredited Certified Pool Operator Course.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain filtering and purification equipment.
• Diagnose, repair and maintain pool equipment and water systems.
• Maintain chemical balance and test water quality regularly.
• Keep daily/weekly/monthly records and reports.
• Respond to work orders promptly and safely.
• Transport and store hazardous chemicals; maintain area cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Pool Operator shall service and maintain pools and spa.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operator shall service and maintain filtering and purification equipment which is used for maintaining the pools.
• Diagnoses, repairs and maintains swimming pools, water systems, filter systems, pumps and other pool equipment.
• Maintain proper chemical balance.
• Maintain the pool area including cleaning of the deck and other maintenance tasks.
• Respond to swimming pool related work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
• Repairs and maintains electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Transports and stores hazardous chemicals.
• Regularly testing swimming pool water quality, Chlorine and pH balance.
• Maintains manual or automated records of all activities and prepares daily / weekly /monthly reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in grounds maintenance.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must have a Department of Health Pool Certification or have completed a Maryland State Accredited Certified Pool Operator Course
• Frequent heavy or intense physical requirements.
• Frequent exposure to a number of disagreeable environmental elements, such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
• Injury may require professional treatment or hospitalization--constant precautions required, i.e., face mask, safety glasses, and/or ear protection needed at all times.
• Be able to stand extended period of time, push, pull, bend, kneel, and stretch as required.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
