Job summary

Providence Public Schools District is seeking a Substitute Administrator for the SY 26-27 to support administrative functions across schools. Immediate starting date.

This role requires a Master’s in educational administration and Rhode Island Building Administrator K-12 certification, plus five years of teaching experience. The per diem compensation is competitive, with long-term assignments potentially higher per District guidelines.

Pool - Substitute Administrator (SY 26-27)

Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) seeks exceptional SUBSTITUTE ADMINISTRATORS to join our community of teachers, students, and stakeholders.

We serve approximately 22,000 students at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Combined, our students and families speak over 75 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.

Responsibilities
  • Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student
  • Supervises students in a variety of school‑related settings

  • Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities
Compensation
  • Per Diem Substitute Administrator: $375/day
  • Long‑term assignments may be compensated at a higher rate in accordance with District guidelines.
Education Requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in educational administration/leadership
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years in teaching experience
  • Must have had experience in an educational leadership position, such as one gained through academic coaching or as a certified administrator

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and; multilingualism preferred.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
