Job summary

Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA is seeking a Pool Lifeguard to ensure guest safety and provide courteous service. You will enforce pool rules, respond to emergencies, monitor equipment, and maintain a clean pool area.

Requires 18+, completion of Ellis & Assoc. Lifeguard Training, and ability to swim 100 yards. Prior lifeguarding is a plus. Full-time hours include 9am–9pm, weekends, and holidays, with 40+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Attend and complete Ellis & Assoc. International Pool and Lifeguard Training Program provided and paid for by Hershey properties.
• Able to swim 100 yards front crawl or breaststroke without resting.
• Able to dive safely to retrieve a 10 lb brick from 8 ft depth (or deepest depth).
• Able to tread water for 1 minute without using arms.
• Capable of exiting pool without stairs/ladders.
• Good physical condition and vision (20/25 or 20/25 corrected).
• Experience in lifeguarding is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and enforcing pool rules and safety regulations.
• Anticipating and responding to aquatic emergencies.
• Monitoring equipment and supplies.
• Maintaining work area and surroundings.
• Participating in weekly lifeguard in-service training.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
