Pool Respiratory Therapist 2 - (2600011U)

Description: Responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regimes prescribed by a physician. Transcribes and implements physician orders pertaining to respiratory care. Performs assessment, observation, and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and responses to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing. Recommends and implements appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities. Initiates changes in treatment pursuant to physician orders. Assesses and initiates emergency procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and desirable outcomes. Performs all other duties required.

Essential Functions

• Monitors mechanical ventilation and environmental systems.
• Demonstrates strong judgment in crisis management and emergency care.
• Actively contributes to process improvements and performs additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• License/Registration: Issued by Florida or Compact State — Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Life Support (ACLS) – ARC or AHA; Pediatric Life Support (PALS) – ARC or AHA
• Work Experience: 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
