Job summary

Boca Raton Regional Hospital is seeking a Pool Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse (Pool DPC RN) to deliver bedside care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. The role requires active RN licensure, PACU experience, and mandatory BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

A BSN is preferred for leadership paths, with a 12-month preceptor requirement and weekend/holiday shifts. Applicants should have an Associate's in Nursing (or BSN) and be prepared for on-call duties, reporting within 30 minutes.

Qualifications

• 3 years PACU experience required.
• RN must hold active nursing license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.
• Associates degree in Nursing or BSN required; BSN preferred for leadership role.
• Preceptor class within 12 months of competency
• Must work weekends and holidays per staffing policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care at the bedside in PACU.
• Deliver patient-family centered care following evidence-based standards.
• Respond to call time within 30 minutes and participate in unit leadership activities.

The Pool Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse – Pool DPC RN is a licensed professional able to demonstrate the following proficiency and mastery of the core competencies: assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership and service who delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing and promoting evidence based practice standards of quality, safety and service.

Qualifications

Degrees:

• Associates.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• Basic Life Support.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
• Registered Nurse.

Additional Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Nursing or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• RNs hired prior to 2/1/2012 (South), 10/1/2017 (Bethesda), 10/1/2023 (Boca), 7/1/2018 (Fishermen's) are not required to have a BSN to continue in their non-leadership role as an RN.
• RNs hired after 2/1/2012 (South), 10/1/2017 (Bethesda), 10/1/2023 (Boca), 7/1/2018 (Fishermen's) with an Associate's degree will have 3 years from their date of hire to complete the BSN degree.
• RN must complete a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice.
• Required to work minimum shift including weekend and holiday requirements as outlined in nursing staffing policy.
• As per department standard any of the following may be required (ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support, BLS- Basic Life Support, PALS- Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• 18 months experience required.

Minimum Required Experience: Candidates must have 3 years PACU experience. BLS, ACLS, PALS required. Candidates will be required to take call and report within 30 minutes of call time.
