Job summary

Mizu is seeking a Service Technician in Training to support homeowners and builders by installing automatic swimming pool covers and diagnosing issues with covers that are not working properly.

The role includes on-site installations, customer education, and hands-on learning to troubleshoot equipment and perform maintenance. You will work with a company truck and receive on-the-job training in a safety-conscious outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED preferred.
• Developing knowledge of pool cover installation and care procedures.
• Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information clearly.
• Developing problem-solving skills.
• Basic time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure all parts needed to complete the job are stocked on the service truck.
• Adequate organizational skills.
• Computer and technical skills to understand the equipment fully.
• Developing mechanical aptitude and understanding of fitment of materials.
• Willingness and ability to learn how to install and repair pool covers.
• Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with systems/equipment.
• Ability to read/write/understand English for safety and quality work.
• Must safely use protective gear, hand/tools, power tools and other equipment.
• Must work safely around water deeper than 7 feet.
• Must notice and avoid hazards and wear the company uniform.
• Must lift up to 75 pounds and handle small parts/larger items.
• If driving is required, drive safely and avoid alcohol or drugs.

Responsibilities

• Loads/unloads materials and tools from trucks.
• Cleans up job site after each completed job.
• Documents all installations and repairs.
• Teaches customers how to use equipment for pool cover maintenance.
• Maintains tools and equipment used during service appointments.
• Delivers, installs, upgrades, cleans, maintains, dismantles, and/or repairs pool covers and related components.
• Keeps service truck clean and reports needed maintenance.
• Performs work with high-quality service and clear communication to customers.
• Confirms services to be performed prior to service appointments.
• Assists with tests on equipment to troubleshoot issues.
• Performs cover cleanings.
• Other duties as assigned.
