Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking a Pool Attendant to maintain a clean and sanitary pool area, ensure safety equipment is ready, and assist residents with pool rules enforcement.

Responsibilities include chemical testing, temperature adjustments, pool and deck maintenance, and daily housekeeping of pool facilities. COP certification where required, high school education preferred, and ability to work flexible hours are valued.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Able to endure seasonal temperatures.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (email/internet).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (COP) certification where required by state law.

Responsibilities

  • Test and balance pool chemicals; document per regulations.
  • Monitor and adjust pool temperature as directed.
  • Clean and vacuum pool; maintain skimmer baskets and filters.
  • Monitor residents entering/exiting pool area; enforce capacity.
  • Ensure posted pool rules are followed; safety equipment checked daily.
  • Clean and maintain pool bathroom; restock supplies.
  • Sweep pool deck and surrounding areas daily; tidy furniture.

Job description

Overview

Pool Attendants must maintain a clean and sanitary pool area and ensure that all safety equipment is present at and around the pool area at all times.

Job Duties
  • Test and balance pool chemicals. Document as required by state and local regulations (Essential)
  • Monitor and adjust pool temperature as directed (Essential)
  • Cleans and vacuums pool, cleans skimmer baskets, backwashes pool filters, and skims the pool with skimmer as needed (Essential)
  • Monitors residents entering and exiting the pool area. Ensures the state capacity is not exceeded (Essential)
  • Ensures all posted pool rules are being adhered to (Essential)
  • Ensures safety equipment is present and in working order. Checks first aid kit for needed supplies on a daily basis
  • Cleans and maintains pool bathroom daily, including keeping them stocked with supplies and free of standing water
  • Sweeps the pool deck and all surrounding areas daily
  • Straightens pool furniture regularly, ensuring that furniture is clean and in working order at all times
  • Reports any non‑working or damaged furniture to the Community Manager or immediate supervisor
  • Gardens and removes weeds in commons areas as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Cleans the clubhouse and surrounding common areas as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Some High School Education (Required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Flexibility to respond to community needs during non‑business hours
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet
