Job summary

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center Sleep Lab is seeking a Sleep Technician responsible for completing sleep lab testing to provide accurate results and high-quality patient service.

You will perform monitoring, calibration, PAP fittings, electrode placement, data collection and documentation of sleep stages, ensuring artifact-free signals and patient safety. Hours vary; certification timelines are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
• A-Step Enrollment through AASM required within 3 months of employment.
• CPSGT credentials through AASM required within 18 months.
• RPSGT certification through BRPT or NBRC required within 36 months.
• BLS certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical assessment, physiological monitoring and testing for sleep-related disorders.
• Verifies orders, reviews patient history and study protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients and orients them to the sleep lab.
• Prepares and calibrates equipment for testing.
• Performs PAP mask fitting and applies electrodes and sensors.
• Documents baseline values and sleep stage events to facilitate scoring.
• Monitors data collection and ensures artifact-free signals.
• Implements interventions for patient safety and therapy as needed.
• Demonstrates age-specific care for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
