Job summary

Lead Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography) within the Department of Veterans Affairs, Sacramento area. The role encompasses neurodiagnostic testing, polysomnographic procedures, and DME program application for sleep-related breathing disorders.

Lead responsibilities include workload distribution, training, and quality patient care within the Northern California care system. Includes managing consults, maintaining production records, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience leading neurodiagnostic/polysomnography teams in a clinical setting.
• Ability to manage workload and coordinate multiple technicians.
• Knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) used in sleep disorders.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and balance the workload among technicians they lead and monitor progress.
• Provide on-the-job training and maintain records; prepare production reports as requested.
• Monitor equipment and inventory; arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
• Draft updates to policies and procedures; triage new consults and review outside sleep study records.
