Ansible Government Solutions is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to support the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Campus in Tacoma, WA. This night-shift role requires setup, monitoring, scoring, and reporting of sleep studies in a hospital sleep lab.

Responsibilities include PSG, MSLT/MWT, HSAT support, and documenting results in CPRS/EHR. Requires BRPT RPSGT, BLS, and NPI, with at least two years of independent experience and no sponsorship available.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited sleep technician training program.
  • Active RPSGT certification through BRPT.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • NPI required.
  • Active, full sleep technologist license if required by state.
  • Minimum 2 years of independent PSG, titration, HSAT, and sleep scoring.

Responsibilities

  • Perform overnight polysomnography (PSG) and related studies.
  • Conduct daytime sleep testing including MSLT and MWT.
  • Support HSAT/HST, including device preparation and data download.
  • Score respiratory events, sleep stages, arousals, and related data.
  • Prepare studies for physician review with summaries and documentation.
  • Identify abnormal findings and escalate as needed.
  • Set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot PSG equipment.
  • Perform daily quality control checks on equipment.
  • Prepare patient charts and diagnostic records.
  • Follow safety, infection control, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Attend required staff meetings and participate in QA/QI activities.

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to support the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Campus specifically located at 9600 Veterans Drive SW, Tacoma, WA 98498. The shift schedule is typically night shift. Responsibilities
  • Perform overnight polysomnography (PSG), diagnostic studies, split-night studies, titration studies, and parasomnia studies
  • Conduct daytime sleep testing including Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT)
  • Support Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT/HST), including device preparation, patient instruction, and data download
  • Score respiratory events, sleep stages, arousals, limb movements, cardiac rhythms, parasomnias, and related sleep data
  • Prepare studies for physician review with technical summaries and documentation
  • Identify abnormal findings requiring escalation to supervising providers
  • Set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot PSG equipment and monitoring systems
  • Perform daily quality control checks on sleep lab equipment
  • Report equipment malfunctions to Biomedical Engineering and IT support
  • Apply and monitor CPAP, BiLevel, ASV, ST, and VAPS therapies under physician orders
  • Adjust treatment settings according to AASM titration guidelines
  • Monitor mask fit, leaks, patient tolerance, and therapeutic response
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Monitor oxygen saturation, respiratory effort, cardiac rhythms, sleep stages, body position, snoring, seizures, arrhythmias, parasomnias, and other physiologic parameters
  • Recognize and correct artifacts affecting study quality
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, including initiating CPR and activating Code Blue procedures when necessary
  • Complete accurate documentation in CPRS/EHR systems
  • Prepare patient charts, technical notes, and diagnostic records
  • Attend required staff meetings
  • Complete QA/QI documentation and participate in quality improvement activities
  • Follow patient safety, infection control, privacy, and HIPAA requirements
  • Support training and supervision of Health Professions Trainees
  • Demonstrate sleep study procedures and equipment setup
  • Participate in Sleep Lab accreditation and quality-control activities
  • Assist with PAP supply requests and other Sleep Lab operational needs
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited sleep technician training program
  • Active Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) required
  • Active, full, current, and unrestricted sleep technologist license if required by the issuing state
  • License may be held in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • No history of suspended, revoked, restricted, surrendered, or denied licensure
  • Minimum 2 years of independent experience performing:
    • In-lab polysomnography (PSG)
    • Titration studies
    • Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT)
    • Sleep study scoring
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • No sponsorship available
All candidates must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
