Job summary

Baptist Health Citizens Hospital in Talladega, Alabama seeks a Polysomnographic Technologist to join our Sleep Center on a PRN basis (7p-7a). Under supervision of Sleep Center Leadership, you will monitor sleep studies, perform PSGs, calibrations, and provide patient education.

You’ll ensure data quality, adhere to AASM standards, assist with sleep studies and test protocols, maintain equipment, and support clinical teams while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Certificate Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Six months of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in Sleep Center diagnostics, including performing patient hookups, conducts overnight physiologic studies-polysomnograms (PSG).
• Reviews existing information in the patient record, examines orders and protocols, and communicates with the physician.
• Performs equipment checks, calibrations, and routine maintenance; notifies when repairs are needed.
• Scores sleep/wake stages and clinical events per AASM standards; documents changes for interpretation.
• Follows MSLT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration protocols.
• Implements patient safety interventions and PAP mask fitting.
• Communicates with healthcare team and maintains infection control.
