Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department:Sleep Lab
  • Schedule:PRN. Nights. 10 hour shifts. Various days of the week.
  • Hospital:St Vincent Mercy Hospital
  • Location:1331 South A Street Elwood, IN
What You Will Do

Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.

  • Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interview patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Perform and document testing. Monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
  • Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; scores, interpret and report results of sleep studies.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing. Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences

1-year experince, must be able to score studies. Current BLS /CPR or willing to complete within 60 days of hire. Must be able to work independently.
