  • Maintains proper supplies to care for patients.

Polysomnographic Technician

Job Type: PRN

Location: Florence, AL

Responsibilities:

  • Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.
  • Prepares for the arrival of patients by setting up and preparing equipment for the ordered test.
  • Interviews patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explains testing procedures.
  • Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.
  • Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies; educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing; determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
  • Maintains proper supplies to care for patients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience: Minimum work experience in sleep lab.

Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
