Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Faculty Group Practice Sleep Technologist (34.5 hours/week) to join our team. Under the supervision of the Director, the candidate will perform all aspects of Polysomnography for clinical and research patients, manage protocol documentation, interface with the GCRC and researchers, prepare quarterly reports, monitor supplies, and perform other duties as assigned. The role requires professionalism, good judgment, and the ability to interact effectively with patients. Responsibilities include scoring studies, training assistants, and adhering to laboratory procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform various duties as assigned.
  • Gather and analyze patient information, review history, medications, and study protocols, and explain procedures to patients.
  • Prepare and calibrate testing equipment, apply electrodes, perform physiologic calibrations, and fit PAP masks.
  • Follow procedural protocols for sleep studies, monitor data collection, and ensure signal quality.
  • Document observations, implement interventions, and verify data integrity.
  • Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events, and generate reports.
  • Ensure safety, perform equipment maintenance, maintain certifications, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Minimum Qualifications

Must have a NYS OP License and current registration as a Polysomnographic Technologist, or be a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Therapy Technician competent in Polysomnography. At least 2 years of experience in Polysomnography or a related field is required.

Salary range for this role is $40.46 - $40.47 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This range complies with New York state law on salary transparency.
