Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer - Polymers for our Brookfield, WI location. You will research and develop polymer technologies, lead material investigations and guide strategies to strengthen our products and processes.

Qualified candidates have 8+ years in polymer manufacturing/R&D and a BS in Materials Science/Engineering with a polymer focus. Travel to suppliers and sites is expected; you will mentor engineers and collaborate with CAD/FEA tooling teams.

Qualifications

BS in Materials Science/Engineering with a polymer focus; MS preferred but not required.
8+ years of hands-on polymer manufacturing, testing, R&D and design.
Experience with plastics, elastomers, thermoset resins, adhesives and coatings; rapid prototyping, injection molding and overmolding.

Responsibilities

Research and develop new polymer technologies and manufacturing techniques.
Provide technical leadership and direction for material selection, tooling and processes.
Lead material/process investigations and drive quality improvements; perform failure analysis.
Mentor junior engineers and manage external collaborations with universities and partners.
Travel up to 10% to suppliers, development partners and production facilities.
