Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking an Engineer in R&D for Polymer & Coatings to develop and optimize polymer, adhesive, and coating technologies. The role focuses on translating lab discoveries into scalable manufacturing processes, working with scientists, technicians, and operations to deliver improved product performance and manufacturing efficiency.

As part of the MPI organization, you will lead process development, conduct pilot-scale studies, and support commercialization while leveraging data

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree in a polymer/chemistry/materials discipline or related field.
Experience in polymers, coatings, or materials processing is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

Design, execute, and analyze lab, pilot-scale, and manufacturing trials.
Develop understanding of polymer chemistry, coatings behavior, and adhesion science.
Apply DOE and statistics to identify robust solutions for processing challenges.
Support scale-up from concept to pilot to manufacturing implementation.
Collaborate with operations to optimize throughput, yield, quality, and safety.
Provide technical leadership on cross-functional project teams.
