Job summary

New England Airfoil Products Inc. seeks an experienced Polishing Technician to finish aerospace blades to exacting tolerances. You will plan and perform complex polishing/buffing, read gauges and operation sheets, and ensure flawless surface quality on intricate blade geometries.

The role requires 1–3 years in polishing, shop math proficiency, and ability to read blueprints. We offer a first or second shift schedule in a CT facility with a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, holidays,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years polishing/buffing of metal aerospace parts.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a wide variety of very complex polishing and buffing activities to impart the desired finish within specified tolerances to blades.
• Work from gauge and operation number provided to obtain proper operation sheet dimensions.
• Follow specifications to polish blades of complex configuration to meet tolerances.
• Rework deviated blades to reclaim and reduce scrap; polish and blend edges.

Job Responsibilities:

Work under the direction of the Polishing Team Leader.

• Plan and perform a wide variety of very complex polishing and buffing activities to impart the desired finish within specified tolerances to partially or completely process blades within limits of standard and recognized procedures.
• Work from gauge and operation number provided to obtain proper operation sheet dimensions from file.
• Follow specifications to polish and buff blades of a very complex configuration requiring the highest degree of skill to obtain desired result.
• Work to very close tolerances. Rework deviated blades to reclaim and avoid scrap. Polish, blend and feather faces of foil to leading and trailing edge, buff and check chord, polish and blend base and radius.

Shift Schedule:

• First Shift - 5:00 am - 3:00 pm; Monday - Thursday (10 hour days)
• Second Shift - 3:00 pm - 1:00 am; Monday - Thursday (10 hour days) 12% shift differential
