Job summary

The Center for Rural Affairs in Nebraska is seeking an Associate Director of Policy to drive Nebraska policy initiatives, support and develop a talented team, manage key grant funded projects, cultivate relationships with stakeholders and advocates, and advance a mission driven strategy that creates lasting impact across the state.

In this role, you'll report to the Director of Policy, supervise and mentor the policy team, and help manage day-to-day program operations while building

Qualifications

• Leading Nebraska policy initiatives aligned with our mission.
• Supervise and develop policy team members.
• Build relationships with advocates, coalitions, funders.
• Research policy issues for reports and proposals.
• Manage grant-funded projects and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for meetings at the State Capital to advocate for key policy priorities.
• Coach policy team through regular collaboration, feedback, and development.
• Help translate policy topics into clear, compelling communications for stakeholders and the public.
• Represent the Center with funders, advocates, policymakers, and community leaders.
• Balance big-picture strategy with hands-on work that moves initiatives forward daily.
