Job summary

Tech:NYC is seeking a senior policy professional to lead research and advocacy efforts for the New York tech community. You will develop positions on major policy issues, synthesize complex information into clear materials, and collaborate with leadership to influence public policy outcomes.

The role requires deep knowledge of NYC and State policy, strong writing, and the ability to translate government activity into insights for the tech sector.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in government, policy, or advocacy roles.
• Strong writing skills and a track record of producing policy materials.
• Experience with tech sector policy issues.
• Understanding of the NYC and State legislative/regulatory landscape.
• Familiarity with AI policy issues is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research legislative, budgetary, and policy issues affecting the tech sector.
• Develop Tech:NYC's positions in collaboration with leadership.
• Track AI policy developments at city, state, and federal levels.
• Produce policy briefs, reports, white papers, testimony, and other materials.
• Represent Tech:NYC to policymakers and stakeholders.
• Engage members with policy events and programming.
• Coordinate with the Communications team and Director of Government Affairs.
