Job summary

Federation of American Hospitals seeks a Director of Policy (Quality and Health IT Focused) to lead analysis, development, and advocacy on federal hospital quality measurement, reporting, and health IT policy. You will draft regulatory summaries, support FAH leadership, and guide members through evolving policy landscapes.

Reporting to senior leadership, the role requires staying current with HIQRP, VBP, HRRP, and cybersecurity developments, coordinating across FAH teams, and shaping positions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in law, public policy, health policy, public health, health informatics, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review federal regulatory proposals and annual rulemaking affecting hospital quality and health IT.
• Lead FAH policy positions on quality, patient safety, health IT, AI, and cybersecurity.
• Translate complex policies into clear guidance for FAH leadership and members.
• Coordinate with committees and external partners to support FAH advocacy efforts.
• Represent FAH in meetings with CMS, CDC, FDA, and related organizations.
