Job summary

The Analyst III serves as a Policy Specialist and will develop standards and regulations related to excavation safety and implementing the Dig Safe Act. This position will lead the Underground Safety Board’s Annual Report and help implement the Board’s fee, providing technical expertise to improve public and worker safety.

With minimal direction, the Analyst III supports complex analysis to prepare policy recommendations for the Board.

Job description

The Analyst III serves as a Policy Specialist and will develop standards and regulations related to excavation safety and implementing the Dig Safe Act. This position will also lead the Underground Safety Board’s (Board) Annual Report and implementation of the Board’s fee. Working with minimal direction, the Analyst III supports complex analysis to develop excavation safety policy recommendations to prepare and present to the Board to improve public and worker safety. As such, the Policy Specialist provides technical expertise and assistance in support of the Underground Safety Board's mission, vision, and goals.

It is essential for the Analyst III to possess strong organizational skills, as the incumbent will independently prepare and monitor a variety of documents, using sound logic and objectivity. The Analyst III needs to develop strong working relationships to be successful. The work produced is highly visible and will be scrutinized closely by senior management, executive staff, and external stakeholders because it will have direct implications to the excavation industry.
