Job summary

JPJ Electronic Communications, Inc. is looking for a skilled installer to fit and troubleshoot radio and safety equipment in government and municipal vehicles across New York.

You will work on vehicles from police fleets to ambulances, ensuring reliable installation and service. You will mainly operate at the New York State Police garage in Middletown with some travel to NYSEG and Department of Corrections facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle mechanics and wiring.
• Mechanic’s tool set.
• Neat work standards.
• Valid NYS driver’s license.
• Position is contingent upon passing a background check and a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and troubleshoot communication and safety equipment in vehicles.
• Install Two‑Way radios in vehicles; mount chassis and head.
• Route power/data cables; install antenna on vehicle roof.
• Install additional electronic equipment as directed.
• Maintain neatness and consistent build across models.
• Install light bars, lighting, push bumpers, consoles, cages, poles and other electronics in police vehicles and other vehicles.
