Job summary

The City of Steamboat Springs is seeking Police Sergeants to join the Police Department and lead patrol, investigation, and traffic enforcement activities. The role emphasizes supervision, incident response, and strategic policing objectives in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of the State Basic Training Academy or equivalent academy.
• Minimum of three years’ work experience as a fully commissioned police officer with the Steamboat Springs Police Department or 5 years of combined experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise police officers and staff in law enforcement duties.
• Visit crime scenes to assist and supervise officers.
• Coordinate and participate in training, hiring, and public information tasks.
