The Police Department operates from a modern public safety facility and focuses on providing staff with the highest quality equipment as well as ample training opportunities. The Police Department also has a take home vehicle program for officers that live within 60 miles of the city. Police Sergeants are a key element of the Winters Police Department team. Police Sergeants not only supervise and participate in patrol functions, they also have the opportunity to develop themselves by engaging in mid-management functions such as managing training, fleet maintenance, volunteer services and force options training; supervising and directly participating in investigations; writing and administrating grants; and managing complex projects.
