Job summary

The City of Orange Police Department is hiring a Police Recruit, a non-sworn trainee who will be employed while attending required police training to develop and meet the requirements for the Police Officer position.

Selected candidates will go through the screening process including an application review, physical ability test, POST Pellet-B written test, and an oral interview, with testing on tentative dates as noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Age requirement: at least 20 years old at time of application and 21 by hire date.

Responsibilities

• Non-sworn trainee classification; employed by the City of Orange while attending required training to become Police Officer.
• Promotion to Police Officer upon successful completion of training.
• Participate in the selection process including written tests, physical ability tests, and interviews.
