Job summary

City of Casa Grande Police Department seeks Police Recruits to perform standard police work, including routine patrols, preliminary investigations, and traffic duties. Upon successful academy completion, recruits are reclassified to Police Officer with a salary range 72,860–101,640.

Applicants must be US citizens, at least 21, and able to obtain Arizona POST certification; a valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Must have physical strength and agility to perform duties
• Must obtain Arizona POST police officer certification
• Must be at least 21 years of age by academy completion
• Must be a United States citizen
• No felony conviction in Arizona or equivalent state offense
• No conviction involving moral turpitude
• Must obtain Arizona driver's license and maintain clean driving record
• Ability to prepare concise reports and use a computer terminal
• Ability to gather and evaluate facts and evidence for investigations
• Ability to develop skill in handling firearms

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas, provides security and crime prevention, and responds to suspicious activity.
• Responds to emergencies, interrogates victims, witnesses and suspects, and files reports.
• Arrests violators, transports and processes individuals, and serves warrants.
• Represents the City in court hearings and testifies as needed.
• Investigates crimes and accidents and processes scenes and evidence.
• Presents information through community and school awareness projects.
• Maintains records, cooperates with other agencies, and participates in problem-solving efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
