Job summary

The City of Fargo seeks entrants for the May 2027 Police Recruit program. This entry-level, non-sworn position participates in the Fargo Police Academy and, upon successful completion, becomes a sworn Police Officer.

Officers perform patrol, traffic enforcement, and investigations to protect lives and property. Applicants must meet minimum education, pass assessments, and obtain North Dakota peace officer licensure after academy.

Qualifications

• Sixty semester hours or ninety quarter credits of post-high school education required.
• Four years of active U.S. military service with honorable discharge acceptable.
• Pass pre-employment assessments and tests; possess a valid North Dakota driver’s license.

• Assigned to enforce laws, provide security, and develop community relations.
• Respond to emergencies, assess situations, and coordinate with agencies.
