Job summary

Qualifications

• Fluent English reading and writing is essential.
• Second language ability is desirable.
• Must have completed or be enrolled in P.O.S.T. Basic Academy.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid California Class 3 or C driver’s license needed.
• Citizen or eligible for citizenship; weight proportional to height; normal hearing/color vision.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls and complaints.
• Investigate incidents and crimes; make arrests and prepare reports.
• Secure evidence, interview victims/witnesses, and coordinate with agencies.
• Appear in court when summoned and maintain liaison with criminal justice partners.
