Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain POST eligibility within ten days of employment.
• Must enroll in and successfully complete a POST Basic Peace Officer Academy within 12 months of hire.
• Must earn and maintain a Basic POST Certificate within 18-24 months of employment.
• Minimum age of 21 at time of academy graduation.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Receive training at a POST approved Basic Police Academy in law, arrest, evidence handling, report writing, and firearm use.
• Participate in examinations, physical conditioning, and other law enforcement training.
• Assist in patrol and related duties as required while in trainee status.
