Job summary

City of Lebanon is seeking an Entry Level Police Officer Trainee. The starting pay for an uncertified officer is $26.84 hourly ($55,827.20 annually).

After Police Academy completion, Trainees become Certified Officers with a pay of $27.65 hourly ($60,387.60 annually). On the one-year anniversary, the officer is promoted to Certified Police Officer with $30.07 hourly ($65,672.88 annually) and may be eligible for shift differential and education incentives ( bachelor’s 3% per degree; master’s 3%

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen.
• Must pass background, medical, psych, and drug screenings.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Investigate crimes and accidents; protect property and citizens.
• Patrol city districts and enforce ordinances and state laws.
• Investigate traffic accidents and prepare reports.
• Arrest suspects and testify in court as needed.
• Direct and control traffic and participate in community outreach.
