Job summary

The City of Westminster is seeking a Police Officer Trainee to join the Police Department in Westminster, Colorado. Trainees will be sent to a state-certified academy and promoted to Police Officer upon successful completion, including a 16-week field training program.

A safety-sensitive role with progression to Senior Officer follows, with a clear pay scale and a substantial hiring bonus. Starting salaries range from the Trainee level to POST-certified levels, with a potential upgrade after one

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age by posting closing date.
• Graduation from high school or GED.
• No felony convictions.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and evaluate information at the scene.
• Arrest, detain and search suspects as required by law.
• Prepare written reports, memos, and activity logs.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor and provide public service.
