Qualifications

• A minimum of 45 semester hours college credit with a C average or better from an accredited college or university.
• 36 months of full-time certified law enforcement experience with a city, county, or state agency and currently employed or recently separated (≤4 months).
• Active, valid Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Basic Peace Officer license, or
• 36 months active service in the U.S. armed forces with an honorable or uncharacterized discharge.
• At least 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED and 36 months of full-time, consecutive employment experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend a 32-week Basic Training Course at the Dallas Police Academy with classroom and field instruction.
• After licensing, receive Dallas Police Department-specific training including city ordinances and real-life scenarios.
• Perform other related duties as required and maintain regular, reliable attendance.

Education

45 semester hours college credit with a C average or better
