City of Pocatello is seeking a Patrol Officer Recruit to begin training toward becoming a certified Patrol Officer. The role includes structured academy training, in-service instruction, and supervision throughout a 16-week Field Training Officer program within the first year of employment.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, valid Idaho driver’s license, and may have related law enforcement coursework or experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Valid Idaho Driver’s License is required.
• Some experience in law enforcement or college level coursework in criminal justice or other law enforcement or military operation is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Patrols assigned areas, enforces laws, responds to calls and protects life and property.
• Prepares detailed reports of arrests, activities and incidents, and conducts investigations as needed.
• Identifies safety plans, coordinates emergency drills and assists in investigations.
• Develops and maintains partnerships with police officers, citizens and community groups.
• Performs other duties as assigned within a training capacity under supervision.
