Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must pass medical, psychological, and background checks including a polygraph.
• Must be able to testify in court and prepare investigation reports.

Responsibilities

• Patrols an assigned area using a police vehicle; monitor radio calls; respond to complaints and investigate incidents.
• Interview witnesses; gather evidence; transport to lab; pursue arrests when necessary.
• Serve legal papers and explain documents; prepare case and offense reports.
• Coordinate policing with civic leagues and community groups; participate in training sessions and recruit new officers.
• Trains and supervises new officers; maintains police vehicle and equipment; ensures proficiency with firearms.
