Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 90 college credit hours and/or life experience relevant to law enforcement.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet city driving standards.
• Must be 21 years or older at hire.
• CJIS fingerprint clearance prior to start; CJIS certification within 30 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas, deter crime, enforce laws, and respond to emergencies.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence, issue citations, and make arrests when qualified.
• Take command at crime or accident scenes, administer first aid, and write reports.
• Provide credible testimony in court and participate in ongoing community engagement.
• Perform related duties as outlined in the Police Officer class specification.
