Qualifications

• Police Officer certificate issued by Texas Commission of Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
• High school diploma / GED required with additional law enforcement training.
• Valid Texas driver’s license without restriction and safe driving record.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Proof of U.S. work eligibility.
• Maintain FEMA courses.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated area by car, motorcycle or on foot to deter crime and respond to calls.
• Enforce traffic laws and issue citations or make arrests.
• Conduct preliminary investigations and gather information for investigations.
• Prepare and submit written reports of activities and investigations.
• Communicate effectively with the public and colleagues.
• Testify in administrative, civil and criminal proceedings.
• Maintain weapons qualification and comply with all safety standards.
• Meet daily department requirements and work as a team.
