Job summary

The City of Turlock is seeking qualified Police Officer II candidates for lateral recruitment to establish an eligibility list. New hires must have a California POST Basic Certificate and at least eighteen months of patrol experience with a law enforcement agency.

Upon swearing-in, officers receive a $5,000 incentive, with additional incentives at probation and after three years of service. This entry-level lateral role involves patrol, investigations, traffic control, and community policing

Qualifications

• California POST Basic Certificate required or in progress.
• Minimum of eighteen (18) months patrol experience with a law enforcement agency.
• Lateral officers must meet prerequisite qualifications and complete probation.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas in vehicles, on foot, motorcycle, or bicycle.
• Investigate crimes including burglaries, thefts, robberies, DV, sexual assaults.
• Direct traffic and manage scenes at emergencies or congestion.
• Prepare detailed reports of arrests, investigations, and incidents.
• Provide information and assistance to the public and coordinate with other agencies.
• May serve as School Resource Officer or participate in community programs.
