Job summary

The City of Yuma Police Department is seeking motivated individuals to join Team Yuma as Police Officers (Non-Certified). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, compassion and empathy for others, a high level of integrity, mental agility and the ability to actively listen and navigate difficult situations.

Selected candidates will attend an AZPOST Law Enforcement Academy to obtain an Arizona Police Officer Certification and will continue training under field training

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge of police methods and apply them per regulations.
• Perform responsibilities of entry-level peace officer, including interactions with diverse populations and enforcing laws.
• Participate in physical conditioning and training to maintain fitness.
• Comply with AZ POST academy rules and City policies.
• Support public relations and uphold the 'Yuma Way' and city values.
