Job summary

The U.S. Marine Corps on Camp Lejeune is seeking a police professional to respond to emergency calls, complaints and other watch duties, and to conduct preliminary investigations of incidents on the installation.

Federal education/experience requirements for GS-04 to GS-06 apply; a bachelor’s degree in police science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Applications close 2027-03-25 and a Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• GS-05: bachelor’s degree in Police Science or comparable field or combination equaling one year of experience.
• GS-04: two years of study with police administration, police law, evidence, investigation, criminology, law enforcement or related subjects.
• GS-03: one year of study with relevant police work subjects.

Requirements & Education

No substitution of education or training may be made for the required specialized experience at the GS-06 level or above. GS-05: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position. OR Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one-year of experience.

The percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience equal to one hundred percent. GS-04: Successfully completed two years of study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 12 semester hours in police administration, police law and evidence, police investigation, criminology, law enforcement, general law or similar subjects closely related to police work.

Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position OR A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent. GS-03: Successfully completed one year of study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 6 semester hours of study pertinent to police work.

OR Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one-year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
