This position is under the direct supervision of the PAH Security Supervisor. This position is responsible for assisting the PAH Emergency department, PAH Security Staff, for the protection and safeguarding, safety, and security of assets, property, personnel, patients, and all visitors within the PAH emergency department and hospital in general. Perform all appropriate related and unrelated duties, as directed. This is a Physical position security position. Responds to unusual or emergency situations at PAH using the appropriate escalation of force level up to, and including, armed response by following established protocol. Observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of PAH property, staff, patients, and visitors. Makes periodic tours thru the Emergency Department for irregularities and monitors traffic to and from the Emergency room, thus allowing the required amount of visitor’s access to the Emergency room unless unusual circumstances exist. Preserves order and acts to enforce laws, regulations, and directives pertaining to staff, patients, visitors and premises. Patrols the emergency department and waiting room areas looking for any unsafe conditions, Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to PAH Security dispatch or Jacksonville Police Department as needed. Maintains Logs and records as needed. Complete assigned computer based learning (CBL’S) annually. Prepares and distributes visitor badges ensuring that only two visitors at a time are allowed into Emergency room unless directed otherwise. Assist PAH Security in De-Escalation tactics if required. Performs other related work as required or requested.
