Position Summary: The Law Enforcement Officer I / Public Safety Officer provides law enforcement, security, and protection for the University of South Carolina community and property. Certified police officers in accordance with SC Code of Laws 23-6-430, empowered with full arrest and police authority statewide. Responsibilities include enforcing state laws and university rules and regulations.
Work Schedule: 28‑day rotating 12‑hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays. Hours per week: 40. Location: Beaufort County, SC.
Position attributes: Safety‑sensitive or security‑sensitive positions require pre‑employment and post‑employment drug testing. Hazardous weather category applicable.
