The City of Stafford, TX is seeking an experienced Police Sergeant to supervise an assigned unit, plan required training, and support departmental operations within a sworn police structure. Responsibilities include managing budgets, investigations, and special assignments while ensuring policy compliance and professional public safety service.
The candidate will mentor staff, oversee investigations, and coordinate with other departments in a dynamic public-safety environment.
This class is the fourth level in a five level Sworn Police Series. Incumbents provide direction and supervision for an assigned unit within the department. Responsibilities include supervising an assigned unit; organizing and planning required training; participating in administrative and policy activities in support of operations; responding to and directing activities and procedures related to Police procedure; managing assigned projects; managing operational budgets; managing inventory; overseeing the investigation of criminal activities; and, performing special assignments.

In addition, must possess above average oral and written communications skills.
Associate's degree or 30 college credit hours in Criminal Justice or related field and five (5) years of Police Sergeant level experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
